What's New in May 2013This is an information web site. It contains free information about a wide variety of topics, such as: book reviews, Christian poems, free games, simple recipes, hard times survival tips, wilderness survival tips, edible plants, and safe drinking water. Just click on one of the above underlined links to access the information you are looking for.
The book review section contains a summary of several books, including Dress for Success, Secrets of Closing Sales, Man and Society in Calamity, The Pianist, and The Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Church. There is also a summary of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution which includes information on how the Atkins' diet works, which foods to eat on the Atkins' diet and which ones to avoid, and how to do each of the four different phases of the Atkins' diet.
The How to Survive Hard Times section includes information on Bicycles for Emergency Transportation, Grandpappy's Homemade Soap Recipe, and Realistic Self-Sufficiency. Also included is a comprehensive summary on Safe Drinking Water. Safe drinking water is a critical element in long-term survival.
The Wilderness Survival Tips section includes information on Hunting Wild Game, Traps and Snares, Rustic Log Cabins, Edible Plants, How to Make a Gill Net, and How to Make a Homemade Bow and Arrows. Several wilderness survival recipes, such as a pemmican recipe, acorn recipes, squirrel recipes, wild game recipes, and recipes for edible plants, can be found in the recipes section.
The recipes which appear on this site are relatively simple and they only require a minimum number of ingredients, most of which are commonly found in the average home kitchen pantry. For example, there are several sourdough starter bread recipes, several basic bread recipes, many cookie recipes, some basic white rice recipes (including rice flour, rice desserts, rice beverages, and many other simple white rice recipes), and two hickory nut recipes. Also included are squirrel recipes for fried squirrel and squirrel stew along with squirrel preparation instructions. There are also several wild game recipes for both common and not-so-common wild game. The acorn recipes include information on acorn types (red oak and white oak), acorn identification, acorn preparation, acorn grits, acorn meal, acorn bread recipes, acorn pancake recipes, acorn cookie recipes, and an assortment of other acorn recipes. Also included is a copy of my personal Grandpappy's Delicious Ice Cream Recipe Using Instant Powdered Dry Milk and No Ice Cream Churn.
This web site has two poetry sections. One is devoted to the poems written by my father, Les Atkins. The other section is devoted exclusively to Christian Poems. A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ. I personally believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and I have been a Christian since 1976. I began writing Christian Poems in October of 2003. If you believe in Jesus Christ then you may enjoy some of the Christian Poems included here. May I suggest the poem One Wish and Not Three.
Many years ago I wrote nine computer software text adventure games and several of those games were published in national computer game magazines. My most popular computer software game was called The Lost Crown of Queen Anne. The Lost Crown of Queen Anne was first published in 1988. Information about my free games, including The Lost Crown of Queen Anne plus all my other free games, can be found by clicking the appropriate link above.
